A little bit about owner, naturalist and guide,
Laura Ward
Laura has been working as naturalist in one way or another her entire life. From teaching outdoor education and survival classes in the Northwoods of Wisconsin and owning and operating a private catering company in the San Jaun mountains of southwest Colorado with a focus on locally harvested and foraged foods, to most recently becoming a certified marine naturalist, she has always grounded herself in her deep connection to Mother Nature.
Beyond working in and with her natural surroundings she has also practiced simply living and playing in the outdoors of each region by hiking, camping, snowboarding, trail running, mountain biking, fly fishing and nature photography.
Fast forward to the past half decade where she has dedicated her mind, body and soul to embracing a holistic lifestyle through cultivating a custom team of holistic practitioners, studying native plants for food and medicine and of course, intentionally slowing down and immersing herself into nature.
Laura was born on Earth Day and has always prided herself with ongoing stewardship projects.  Currently, Laura is involved with multiple environmental organizations including The Surfrider Foundation, Marine Mammal Stranding Network, on-going Community Science land and sea stewardship projects, and environmental activism throughout the Pacific Northwest, more specifically the Salish Sea bio-region.
