A little bit about owner, naturalist, and guide,
Laura Ward

Laura has been working as naturalist in one way or another her entire life. From teaching outdoor education and survival classes in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, and owning and operating a private catering company in the San Jaun mountains of southwest Colorado with a focus on locally harvested and foraged foods, to most recently studying and working as marine naturalist in The San Jaun Islands, she has always grounded herself in her deep connection to Mother Nature.

Beyond working in and with her natural surroundings she has also practiced simply living, and playing in the outdoors of each region by hiking, camping, snowboarding, trail running, mountain biking, fly fishing and nature photography.

Laura was born on Earth Day, and has always prided herself with ongoing stewardship projects.  Currently, Laura is involved with multiple environmental organizations including, The Surfrider Foundation,  Whatcom Marine Mammal Stranding Network, on-going Community Science land and sea stewardship projects, and environmental activism throughout the Pacific Northwest.
